From the lost silent movie "A Blind Bargain" comes this bust, sculpted by Saul Alvarez. It depicts Lon Chaney as the "Apeman". The only thing I added were the teeth - in most of the surviving stills from that movie they show in a prominent way. The bust was well cast, with minimum clean up. It was painted with Vallejo acrylics, MIG enamel washes and some pastels. I'm really happy that someone took care of this obscure and overlooked character! Highly recommended!

"The Cat and the Canary" and the "Sayer of the Law" by Joe Laudati
From last years Resintopia I've got these two gems I couldn't resist, sculpted by GK-Veteran Joe Laudati. "The Cat and the Canary" and the "Sayer of the Law". the first figure comes from the silent movie classic with the same name by Paul Leni, the other kit is Bela Lugosi as the "Sayer of the Law" from the second version of H.G. Welles "Island of lost souls". Both were released by Mickey and Mallory Models and usually available through Sassy's Satellite via Ebay. Painted with Vallejo acrylic paints and MIG enamel washes. Enjoy!

Ray Harryhausen's Wooden Sirene from "The Golden Voyage of Sindbad"
After a long absence from building & painting (and finally getting glasses), I present you the vintage Monsters in Motion release of the classic Wooden Sirene, concieved by the immortal Ray Harryhausen. Painted with the help of Vallejo acrylics and MIG pigments/washes.
Hope you'll like her. If not, she's going to steal your latest AFM copy....

Get well soon Bob Burns!
Bob Burns is best known for his collection of movie props, particularly from horror and science-fiction movies. He has also had numerous smaller acting roles in movies as one of the last Hollywood Gorilla suit actors. His collection, Bob's Basement, is a real treasure featuring props and memorablia from the past 70 years of Imagi-Movies, including the legendary Time Machine used in George Pal's classic movie.
He suffered a major heart attack last weekend. According to Bob's wife Kathy, he received immediate medical attention. The surgery was successful, and Bob is resting comfortably in the hospital.
Get well soon, Bob!
The picture is the Moebius Models recent tribute kit release of the Gorilla suit he is famous for: The Mighty Kogar. There are also a Bob Burns and Tracy the Gorilla (Ghostbusters TV series) alternate head included. Now available here.

Stuff from the hard drive part 3 of 4: Sculpted by Jeff Yeagher
These are kits sculpted by actor/writer Jeff Yeagher, one of my favourite sculptors. At the moment he is busy working for Sideshow Collectibles and Moebius Models, but still finds the time to crank out a garage kit or two. I still have more than a few of his kits in storage waiting for paint. Somewhere down the road I have to reshoot (and repaint) these kits to let them shine more. They deserve it!
